Minister of Roads and CEO of the Iranian Airports and Air Navigation Company said at the opening ceremony of the Sirjan Airport Flight Level Improvement Project: With the official permission of the Civil Aviation Organization, the operation plan of the Sirjan Martyrs Airport Flight Level Improvement Project and the resumption of flights at this airport has been carried out.
Reza Nakhjovani added: The existing runway and buildings at Sirjan Airport needed to be repaired and improved due to safety issues, and this matter cost more than 2 trillion rials (230 billion tomans).
Deputy Minister of Roads and CEO of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company said: Thanks to the construction measures, the runway of Sirjan Airport has been fundamentally repaired and restored, and measures in the field of runway and terminal lighting system have also been properly carried out in this airport.
The length of the runway has been increased from 3,700 meters to 3,860 meters within the scope of this Sirjan Airport improvement project.
The beginning of this project dates back to April 1402 (Iranian solar year), until today, the grinding and asphalting of all flight components, the lighting system, the installation and marking of lines have been carried out, as well as the striping operation (a specialized term in the airport process) in order to increase safety has been carried out until the end of this year.
