Adherence to ethics, discipline and reasons for success
On October 7, the firefighters of Sirjan Special Economic Zone were honored on the occasion of the National Fire and Safety Day.
At this ceremony, firefighter Majid Khazri, who participated in most of the operations last year and who a few days ago, together with his colleagues, prevented a major disaster by controlling the fire at the chemical fertilizer factory, was chosen as an exemplary firefighter and was honored. Sirjan Special Economic Zone Public Relations had an intimate conversation with this selfless firefighter, which follows.
Majid Khazri is 44 years old and has 20 years of experience in the firefighters of Sirjan Special Economic Zone. He has two children and believes that the reason for his success in fighting fires is his composure.
I congratulate you on being selected as a model firefighter of the 1403 of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone. What do you think were the reasons for this choice?
please thank you It is the kindness and kindness of the managers to have chosen me as an exemplary firefighter. They certainly know the reasons better than I do. However, in the meeting we had on the occasion of the Firefighters' Day, the managers said that the reasons were the respect for ethics, discipline and discipline at work.
Definitely, what you say is true and you deserve it. How do you observe these things in the workplace?
I do my best to make the work environment friendly and so that I and my colleagues do not have any challenges in the shift I am in and live together like a family. During the accident, I tried to use my experience and keep my cool. I feel responsible for the region, investors, people's lives and property, and I will do my best to put out the fire as soon as possible.
Can you tell us a little about the challenges and benefits of being a firefighter?
Saving lives and property is the best goal of firefighting. It's a great feeling when someone is stuck in a car and you save them, or when you put out a fire and they thank you, it's a great feeling. But this job has its own challenges and the risks of life always threaten us. Firefighters are exposed to serious risks in the course of their duties, such as falling from heights, severe burns, and inhaling toxic gases, which can lead to personal injury or even death.
What dangers have you faced so far?
Dangers such as glass falling from above, electric shock, smoke inhalation, and minor burns.
Have you been injured?
When we did not have breathing apparatus, we were bothered by smoke inhalation during some fires and had lung problems for a while.
The most difficult mission you have had?
Extinguishing the fire at Binazir Kar Company (former adhesive tape), extinguishing the fire at the thinner and paint warehouse of Sardar Company, extinguishing the waste plant and extinguishing the fire at the sugar refining plant.
How many operations have you participated in approximately?
The number of operations is very high, but around thirty important operations.
What memories do you have of the regional firefighters?
After completing my military service at the age of 22, I joined the regional firefighters and during this period I have good and sweet memories with my colleagues and other units. I spent the best moments of my youth in the regional firefighters and I am very happy to save lives and property. This is the best memory of my professional life.
Is your family unhappy with your job?
No, besides, firefighting is a job of love and my family also loves this job of love very much.
According to your career in this profession, what do you offer to young workers?
The same experience that I have acquired for several years, such as respect for ethics, work discipline and composure in firefighting operations. The most important thing I can say is that a firefighter must love his job and have a sense of responsibility in the face of all incidents.
What do you expect from regional managers?
In my opinion, the regional managers have had a very positive vision of the fire service during this period and I thank them all. In recent years, the fire departments in the region have changed and purchased equipment that even some advanced fire departments do not have not, and I hope this trend will continue. The fact that the area managers and the Kerman Civil Engineering Organization thought of our housing and handed over the land is highly commendable and grateful.
