Sirjan Special Economic Zone
is the first Special Protected Area in Iran, which was formalized under Note 20 of the First Plan Law and Clause "D" of Note 25 of the Second Plan of Economic, Social and Development Law cultural of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and from Shahrivar 1372 (Iranian solar calendar equal to 1992) with the establishment and opening of the Iranian customs office in the region, it began its activities in the form of construction and operation of warehouses, depots and the transit of goods, industrial production and assembly and classification units as well as support and well-being and accommodation services.
This area has an area of 1370 hectares and is located at a distance from the Tehran-Bandar Abbas transit road and close to the airport of this triangle-shaped city. With the beginning of the second five-year plan for the economic and social development of the country and with the approval of paragraph "D" of note 25 in 1373 (Iranian solar calendar equal to 1993), this region pursued new and more comprehensive objectives and in view of previous objectives In order to support domestic production and develop non-oil exports and create mobility in the regional economy, it began operating under the special economic name of Sirjan, and pursuing legal procedures for solve the problems and dilemmas that arise in the legal implementation and its implementing regulations during the execution of the work, it exists or still exists. (It is necessary to explain that Sirjan Protected Area was renamed to Sirjan Special Economic Zone at the 22nd meeting of Supreme Free Zones Council.
